We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, creative and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our community. You will work with our entire staff team to ensure that Manor Park continues to be a place where children flourish.

The Role

The role will be primarily to provide class cover, class support in year 2 and small group intervention and/or tutoring. We require an individual who can provide flexible support across the school. This will include planning for and teaching whole classes.

Experience of teaching phonics through the Read Write Inc programme and Maths through ‘Power Maths’ would be desirable. In addition to this, experience across Key Stage One and Two, 1-1 and small group teaching and intervention support would be valuable for the role.

This role may suit someone who is an ECT or looking to begin ITT and would like to further their experience of working across a Primary School.

We are looking for someone who will

• Understand how children develop, how they learn and what motivates them;

• Support children's literacy and numeracy, and use secure subject knowledge to teach new concepts as agreed with the class teacher;

• Work confidently with individuals and groups — reinforcing teaching points, clearing up misunderstandings and sorting out misconceptions.

• Assess children's understanding of reading and maths, discuss their grasp of learning objectives, and extend their thinking.

• Support children with Special Educational Needs, liaising with the SENCO and outside agencies as needed.

• Encourage good social skills, model acceptable behaviour, and suggest ways of developing learning.

• Take an active part in planning and deliver high-quality lessons.

• Bring a calm, empathetic and adaptable approach — with initiative, confidentiality, a good sense of humour and enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to working as part of a team.

• Build trusting, positive relationships with children, families, staff, governors and external partners;

• Uphold high expectations, professional integrity and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding;

• Embody Manor Park’s values and bring energy, warmth, resilience and a sense of humour to the role.
