Knockhall Primary School, part of the Woodland Academy Trust, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and inclusive school community.

As an HLTA, you’ll play a vital role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning. From leading whole-class sessions to mentoring other support staff, your expertise will help shape a positive learning environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed. You’ll work alongside a passionate team committed to delivering excellence in education and making a real difference in children’s lives.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Be confident delivering planned lessons to whole classes in the absence of a teacher.
  • Possess a sound understanding of child development and the national curriculum.
  • Use behaviour management strategies to create a purposeful and inclusive learning environment.
  • Be able to lead, mentor and support other Teaching Assistants.
  • Use ICT effectively to support teaching and learning.
  • Communicate clearly and build effective relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Be committed to continual professional development and reflective practice.
  • Understand and uphold safeguarding policies and procedures.
