Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for a flexible, hardworking and positive Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and supportive team. The successful candidate will be adaptable, enthusiastic and highly motivated, with a genuine commitment to helping every child succeed. They will share our high expectations and demonstrate a strong commitment to the values and ethos of Middleton Primary School.

Working closely with teachers and other colleagues, you will play an important role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning, overcoming barriers and securing the best possible outcomes for all children. The role will include leading learning and providing class cover across the school, both on a planned basis and, when required, at short notice.

A relevant HLTA qualification is essential.

The successful candidate will:

Lead whole-class learning confidently and effectively

Support high-quality teaching and learning across the primary age range.

Build positive relationships with children and create a calm, purposeful and engaging learning environment.

Adapt learning to meet a range of needs and help children overcome barriers to learning.

Work collaboratively with teachers and other colleagues to support excellent outcomes for all pupils.

Demonstrate flexibility and be willing to provide class cover across the school as required.

Promote high expectations for behaviour, learning and achievement.

Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of Middleton Primary School.
