Prendergast School is seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) from January 2023 to work as part of our learning Support Department. This post is offered on a fixed term contract to cover the substantive post holder’s maternity leave.

You will provide support for students, teachers and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising your advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring and assessing and managing classes to encourage students to become independent learners. You will provide support for student welfare and support the inclusion of all students in all aspects of school life.

As HLTA, you will deliver the Ruth Miskin literacy programme and appropriate training will be provided.

You will support the SENCo with the organisation of external interventions for students, the day-to-day organisation of the LSA Team’s timetables and the organisation of Exam Access arrangements.

Actual salary: £27,885 - £28,825 per annum
