What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful candidate will have a HLTA qualification or equivalent. The school has a provision for a small number of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder who are taught in mainstream classes with appropriate support. There is also a provision for visually impaired children. Therefore, experience of working with children with Autism or Speech and Language difficulties would be an advantage. They will also be expected to cover classes as and when needed.
They will have a sense of humour, a positive attitude, strong behaviour management skills and enjoy working as a proactive member of a team of teachers and assistants who put children at the centre of everything they do. A desire to help children overcome barriers to learning is essential.
