Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary
We require an enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible HLTA to join our warm and welcoming team. You will be working under supportive Senior Leaders, who encourage opportunities for professional development.
You will be responsible for instructing groups and classes of pupils to provide PPA and CPD cover to teaching colleagues, as well as providing short-term cover for absent colleagues. Flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to approach change with a positive attitude are therefore essential in this role.
Experience in a similar role and flexibility to work across the school would be a distinct advantage.
You will:
- have the ability and enthusiasm to motivate pupils;
- have experience of teaching or instructing within the primary phase and/or Early Years;
- possess excellent behaviour management skills and be able to form positive professional relationships with pupils;
- have patience, empathy and the ability to think on your feet;
- demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to meet the needs of the school.
An HLTA or teaching qualification is desirable, though not essential for a candidate with significant relevant experience.
GCSE in English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent) is essential.
