Ebbsfleet Green Primary School, part of the Maritime Academy Trust, is seeking a skilled and nurturing Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP), supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your SEND expertise within a well-supported, inclusive school community.

Please note: while this role is based within our SRP, as part of our flexible and collaborative staffing approach, you may be redeployed to support within the mainstream school should the need arise.

About The Role

As an HLTA within our SRP, you will play a key role in delivering specialist provision and inclusive support for pupils with ASD. You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and the wider inclusion team to ensure every child receives high-quality, personalised learning experiences.

You will:

  • Deliver high-quality learning experiences, including leading whole-class sessions during teacher PPA where appropriate

  • Plan and deliver targeted interventions tailored to individual EHCP outcomes

  • Support pupils’ communication, social interaction and emotional regulation

  • Adapt learning to meet a wide range of needs within a structured, supportive environment

  • Foster independence skills and preparation for the next stage of education

  • Work collaboratively with mainstream colleagues to promote inclusive practice

  • Contribute to a nurturing, structured environment that enables pupils to feel safe and successful

This role offers the opportunity to develop strong SEND practice while contributing meaningfully to whole-school inclusion.

Who You Are

You are a confident, compassionate and skilled HLTA who is passionate about inclusive education.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds HLTA status (or equivalent qualification)

  • Has experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally ASD

  • Can confidently lead learning and adapt provision to meet individual needs

  • Understands the importance of structure, routine and communication strategies

  • Works collaboratively with teachers, support staff and families

  • Brings patience, resilience and a calm, consistent approach

  • Is flexible and committed to supporting pupils across the school if required

You believe every child deserves the right support to succeed — and you’re ready to be part of a team that makes that happen every day.

What We Offer

At Ebbsfleet Green Primary School, support staff are valued, developed and empowered. As part of the Maritime Academy Trust, we offer:

  • A supportive and forward-thinking inclusion team

  • Specialist SEND experience within our SRP

  • Tailored professional development and SEND-focused CPD

  • A collaborative school culture rooted in community

  • Local Government Pension Scheme

Ebbsfleet Green Primary School is based in Ebbsfleet Garden City, Kent. We are a newly formed school and opened in September 2020. We are now in our third year of opening and have two forms of entry for nursery, reception and year 1 and one form of entry for year 2, year 3 and year 4. We will continue to grow year-by-year, eventually to a two-form entry school, as the Ebbsfleet Green community grows around us. This academic year, our Specialist Resource Provision for children with Autism opened and we have children ranging from reception to year 3 accessing this provision.

We take pride in our creative and entrepreneurial curriculum as it not only engages children, but challenges them to develop the skills - as well as the knowledge - befitting of the twenty-first century. At Ebbsfleet Green, we will give all children an exciting, innovative educational excellence to support them to become the best they can be. We know our children will leave our school ready for the next stage of learning.

We love being part of the Ebbsfleet Garden City community and work in active partnership with residents, parents, carers and local businesses. We believe that by listening and being partners with our community, we will deliver an education to our children that will create respectful, compassionate and inquiring life-long learners.

We are proud to be part of the Maritime Academy Trust.
