What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will work under supervision of the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion (SENCo) and class teachers of pupils attending the Provision, working with them to support a small group of pupils with complex additional needs by planning, preparing and delivering a child-led bespoke curriculum. The HLTA will be responsible for line managing Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) working in the Provision, leading the team to ensure pupils thrive.

  • An individual who has compassion, empathy and inclusion at the heart of their practice.

  • A HLTA who is both self-motivated and able to work in partnership with the SENCo, a variety of class teachers and LSAs.

A knowledge of various SEN needs is essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our SENCo to establish and develop a new, Informal Enhanced Provision in our school. We are keen to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to take the lead in the day to day running of the Provision (a school-led initiative not commissioned by the Local Authority), being set up for September 2026. This is a permanent contract.
