  • Ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate learning activities
  • Good understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Adaptability to meet a range of learning needs, including SEN
  • Leadership skills to support and guide other support staff
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative when working independently
  • ICT proficiency to support teaching and learning
  • Ability to motivate and engage pupils of varying abilities
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Experience

  • Experience leading whole-class lessons in the absence of a teacher
  • Supporting teaching and learning across different year groups
  • Planning and delivering small group and intervention sessions
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN, including adapting resources
  • Contributing to lesson planning alongside teachers
  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil progress
  • Experience supporting behaviour management strategies
  • Mentoring or supporting other teaching assistants
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and senior leaders
  • Involvement in school initiatives, clubs, or enrichment activities
  • Experience implementing school policies and procedures
  • Relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
