Holly Meadows Specialist Hub of Inclusive Practice (SHIP) is a bespoke provision supporting up to 16 pupils with co-occurring special educational needs and/or disabilities.
The SHIP provides a nurturing, structured environment where children feel safe, regulated and ready to learn, while remaining closely connected to mainstream school life.
We are seeking two skilled, compassionate and resilient HLTAs to join our SHIP team. First post start date - 13 April 2026 and second post start date - 1 September 2026.
Working closely with the SHIP Teacher and SHIP Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, child-centred learning and emotional support for pupils with co-occurring needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils individually and in small groups, including literacy, numeracy, RSHE and therapeutic activities
- Deliver learning in the absence of the teachers
- Assist with assessments, screenings and observations
- Create a calm, safe and structured environment
- Provide co-regulation and emotional support
- Support planning and delivery of individualised interventions
- Promote positive behaviour and high expectations
- Work collaboratively with families, partner schools and professionals
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities
Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience working in EYFS or KS1/KS2
- Knowledge of SEND
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Calm, compassionate and consistent approach
- Commitment to safeguarding
Desirable:
- Experience with EHCPs
- Therapeutic or trauma-informed practice
- Leadership or HLTA experience
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.
