We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about teaching and learning and who enjoys working with children across the primary age range.

The Role

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for providing high-quality Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) cover across the school. They will work closely with teachers and leaders to deliver engaging and effective lessons that ensure continuity of learning whilst class teachers undertake their allocated PPA time.

The role will involve teaching whole classes across a range of year groups and subjects, maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour, and contributing positively to the life of the school. The successful candidate will become a valued member of our team and play an important role in ensuring that all pupils experience consistently high-quality teaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to provide PPA cover.
• Teach whole classes using planning provided by class teachers and subject leaders.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management in line with school policies.
• Support pupils to make good progress and achieve their full potential.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and disadvantaged pupils.
• Assess learning within lessons and provide feedback to class teachers where appropriate.
• Promote positive relationships and foster a supportive learning environment.
• Support the school's Catholic ethos and values through all aspects of school life.
• Contribute to wider school activities and events as required.

We are seeking someone who:

• Holds HLTA status or is willing to obtain.
• Has experience of teaching and leading learning across the primary age range.
• Is confident teaching a range of subjects and year groups.
• Has excellent classroom management skills and high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
• Is flexible, adaptable and organised.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Works effectively as part of a team whilst showing initiative and independence.
• Is committed to inclusion and ensuring the best outcomes for every child.
• Supports and promotes the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
