Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary
HLTA - 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term-time only) - from 08:15 to 3:15 (4:30 on a Wednesday).
We have a vacancy for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) position - with a Maths speciality within the Inclusion Faculty. This role will support learners with SEND through a targeted range of learning interventions, specialist provisions, and small-group teaching, while also contributing to the administrative and organisational work that underpins the effective running of the Inclusion Faculty. The role will involve working closely with teaching staff and inclusion colleagues to support both learning outcomes and day-to-day inclusion provision, under the direction of the Inclusion Manager.
HLTA - Maths (Learning Studio Provision)
This role will involve teaching Maths to students in a targeted provision setting (including Studio 30 and Studio 40). The post holder will plan and deliver structured Maths sessions, support student progress, and contribute to monitoring outcomes for learners with SEND.
Additional responsibilitiessupport learning in mainstream and inclusion settings
assist with day-to-day timetabling of Teaching Assistants (administrative support, not management)
track and monitor the effectiveness of interventions
work in partnership with teaching and inclusion colleagues
contribute to the development of inclusion provision
occasionally cover lessons in the absence of Studio teachers
The successful candidate will be a qualified HLTA or working towards the HLTA qualification..
