We wish to appoint 2 outstanding Higher Level Teaching Assistants and a Teaching Assistant (see separate advert) to be part of our SHIP provision. A SHIP is a specialist provision within a mainstream school that enables children with a range of special educational needs and/or disabilities to have access to individualised and small group support whilst also benefiting from inclusive practice within the mainstream setting. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team setting up a new provision for SEND children. We have a fantastic new purpose-built SHIP building and we are excited that it will be ready to use in the summer term.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with children with special needs
  • A positive and warm manner
  • A child-centered approach
  • A passion for helping children of all abilities to reach their full potential
  • Experience of working with a range of primary aged children, including early years and KS1
  • An understanding of how to support children with a range of individual needs and barriers to learning.
  • A strong sense of teamwork
  • A good sense of humour

We can offer you:

  • A supportive, warm and friendly staff team
  • A chance to be part of something new, at the beginning of its journey.
  • Extensive professional development opportunities

This is an opportunity to be part of a fantastic team who are really making a difference: BBC article - Sprowston Junior Ship
