What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher of History and Citizenship to join our ever-growing department to motivate and inspire pupils to achieve their best.

The Position

We are looking for someone who would enjoy working with engaging and curious pupils at Key Stages 3 and 4. The department is very well resourced with a range of innovative equipment.

  • Proven experience in teaching and leading History or a similar subject.
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation.
  • Track record of improving student outcomes in personal development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to analyse data to inform teaching and learning.
  • Good up to date understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues and procedures;
  • Good understanding of statutory requirements upon schools;
  • An understanding of the role of parents and the community in school improvement and how this can be promoted and developed.
  • To act in accordance with the Data Protection Act and always maintain confidentiality.
  • A strong commitment to student-centred education and well-being.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and the capacity to inspire and motivate others.
  • High expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
  • To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for or come into contact with.
