Elmlea Schools are seeking a confident, caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work as a Cover Supervisor with a focus on behaviour and pastoral support.
Working within our inclusive, high-achieving school community — where kindness, respect and community underpin everything we do — you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and inclusion, helping every child to feel safe, supported and able to succeed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering pre-planned learning across the primary age range in the absence of the class teacher
- Creating a calm, purposeful and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement
- Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to meet pupils’ needs
- Upholding Elmlea Schools’ values and high expectations at all times
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold HLTA status (or equivalent experience)
- Be confident leading classes across the primary age range
- Have strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
- Be committed to inclusive practice and supporting pupils’ wellbeing
- Demonstrate a secure understanding of safeguarding
