What skills and experience we're looking for

  • A qualified, enthusiastic and able Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Someone who can provide high quality support in relation to the raising of educational achievement and to encourage pupils to become independent learners.
  • The commitment to raise attainment and improve rates of progress of children.

The job involves supporting children in their play, working within Early Years Foundation Stage including supporting children with additional needs. The role also includes supervision of children at lunchtimes. The school has a strong ethos of inclusion and a tradition of valuing all children and their individual interests.

The successful candidate will have,

  • HLTA status.
  • An NVQ Level 3 Childcare qualification.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent
  • A high expectation of children’s learning and development and a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Experience of working with children under 5 years old, or as an LSA.
  • A professional and warm approach in their interactions with children, families and staff.
  • A positive and enquiring attitude to their own professional development.
