  • Able to form good relationships with children and adults.

The Governors, leadership team and pupils of Sunnyfields Primary School are looking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced individual to join the team as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).

This role would be suitable for:

  • An experienced TA/LSA/HLTA within the primary sector.
  • A newly qualified teacher that would benefit from gaining some additional experience in the classroom.
  • A graduate who is looking to gain experience before applying to train as a teacher. The school may be able to support your application and placement for school-based training.

You will work closely with teachers throughout the school and will be involved with and contribute to the whole planning cycle, including lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting work plans. You will also be required to provide specific support to individuals / groups of children as required by the class teacher as well as covering classes for PPA time or absence at short notice. You will need excellent communication skills, the ability to engage and motivate children and will be a committed member of the whole school team. You will also be committed to developing active learning. This role will also include promoting positive play and behaviour in the playground each lunchtime and on allocated pre-morning break sessions.

We will offer tailored training and on-going support to the successful candidate who has the ability to implement phonics, literacy and numeracy group work and support across the whole strong curriculum (a curriculum that supports very positive behaviour and engagement in learning).
