What skills and experience we're looking for
Working hours are 25 hours per week, term time only, 8.45am-3.00pm, Monday to Friday. Starting salary, Scale 6 pt.14, £16,652 per annum.
The successful candidate will be someone with experience of working, understanding and supporting children within an educational setting, demonstrate good teaching and learning skills, a commitment to team and collaborative working and able to display an innovative approach to education. They should thrive when working with children and have excellent communication skills.
It is essential that the successful candidate can demonstrate the following:
- Hold GCSE's in Maths and English, grade A-C or equivalent
- Enthusiasm to work with children with a variety of different personalities and skill levels.
- Experience within the Primary phase
- A strong, confident individual who can take control of a classroom.
- Able to engage well with pupils.
- Able to work under your own initiative.
- Smartly presented and with excellent time management skills.

Templars Academy is part of the Inspires Multi-academy Trust, a primary-only multi-academy trust with 5 schools forming the MAT.
Templars Academy is located on the Cressing Road in Witham, Essex. Our large fenced site benefits from excellent facilities. This includes two school buildings, each with disabled access and toilets, a disabled car parking space close by, and their own halls. We have extensive landscaped grounds, a fully air-conditioned ICT suite and a well stocked library.
The staff and children thoroughly enjoy working together across the school sites. We are constantly seeking to improve the learning experiences for children and have created a curriculum which captures their interest inline with the current national curriculum.
Our innovative and exciting curriculum is thoughtfully designed to cater to the diverse needs of all our pupils. We strive to create engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity and foster a love for learning. By equipping our children with the necessary skills and knowledge, we empower them to reach their full potential and prepare them for the challenges of the future.
We are a two form entry school, with a maximum number on roll of 420. We also benefit from a 26 place nursery class for 3-4 year olds and a 12 place nursery class for 2-3 year olds.
