Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
We are looking to appoint an experienced, confident, flexible and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated school team.
The successful applicant will work across Years 3–6, supporting high-quality teaching and learning through working with individuals, small groups and whole classes. The role will include undertaking planned teaching activities and providing class cover in the absence of teachers and covering PPA.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and committed practitioner who has high expectations of all pupils and is passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will have:
- Recent and successful experience of teaching and supporting learning across Key Stage 2.
- An HLTA qualification or higher.
- Proven experience of working successfully as an HLTA.
- GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
- A genuine passion for working with children and for teaching and learning.
- Confidence and competence in providing whole-class cover across KS2.
- Excellent positive behaviour management skills and high expectations of pupil behaviour.
- The ability to plan, deliver and evaluate learning activities, assess pupils' progress and adapt teaching appropriately.
- A clear understanding of assessment for learning and the ability to provide effective feedback that responds to pupils' needs.
- The ability to work independently, use initiative and respond flexibly to the demands of the role.
- The ability to form and sustain positive relationships with children, colleagues, parents and other stakeholders.
- High levels of self-awareness, emotional intelligence and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A sound understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
