HLTA (part-time) job summary

Richmond Primary Academy is now recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.

About the role

To complement the teachers’ delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and school policies and strategies.

To undertake specified timetabled teaching duties as agreed with the Headteacher.

To work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Also to supervise whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers including PPA.

Hours negotiable for the right candidates - 14 hours per week or less, depending on school and candidates. Term Time only. Fixed Term to 31st August 2026.

  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
  • Motivation to work with children and young people.
  • Accurate spelling and grammar knowledge.
  • Good numeracy/literacy skills.
