HLTA Primary Music Specialist job summary

    Elmlea Schools, part of the Russell Education Trust, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant who specialises in music to join our dedicated team in September 2026.

    This role is to provide class cover by teaching music across our Junior School and is part-time (one full day with three afternoons). We are looking for someone who can also confidently lead our KS2 orchestra and singing assemblies and choir clubs in both the Infant and Junior Schools.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Experience of teaching music to a range of primary aged children.
    • Experience of working effectively with individual pupils, small groups and whole classes.
    • A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
    • A commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
    • Confidence in supporting a range of children with pastoral and SEND needs.
