We are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team at Beechfield from September 2024.

If you are particularly interested in Art, Music, D&T, Science or Computing this could be a role for you, but equally if you are happy teaching children a variety of subjects in a range of year groups this could also be an opportunity you would like. It is a great professional development opportunity for anyone who is considering a career in teaching.

This role involves working across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You will be teaching a class of children while the teacher is released for their planning, preparation and assessment time, if the teacher is required to attend meetings or if there is short term illness.

You would be expected to deliver lessons (based on teacher's planning) and to mark the work at the end of the lessons and feedback to the teacher.

This role also involves working alongside the teachers in class and supporting groups and individual pupils when you are not covering.

The post is for 33.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. The hours are 8:30am to 4:00pm, plus one hour per week to attend a staff meeting. You would also be expected to attend 5 INSET days. We will consider applications for 3 days/weeks (22h 30/week).

This is a permanent post.

You will need to have a GCSE of equivalent in English and Maths and a high standard of written and spoken English.
