Teaching Assistant - Fixed term for 1 year job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual to join or team in a post that would suit a candidate who is considering a future career in teaching. We have a proven record of developing teaching assistants into teachers of the future.

This post would also suit a graduate looking to take their next step in their career path. We are keen to find a new member of staff who is as committed and ambitious as we are.

This role will enable the post holder to understand how children learn and develop and give them an insight into the role of a teacher and the skills needed to successfully make the transition from supporting to leading in the classroom.

The post involves supporting pupils learning and emotional needs within the classroom environment as well as delivering some interventions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to independently lead small groups and provide 1 to 1 support as well as working under the class teacher's direction.

You will work 30 hours per week, term time (38 weeks) plus five inset days and a minimum of two days to be worked during school holidays.

You will have GCSEs in English, Maths and Science at grade C or above.

This is a fixed term position for one year in the first instance.

Applications may be considered while the post is being advertised.
