Home School Link Worker job summary

Folly View Primary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated Home School Link worker to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to help ensure every child has the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the partnership between home and school, promoting positive attendance, supporting pupil wellbeing and helping families access appropriate services and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers.
  • Support families facing challenges that may impact on children's learning, attendance or wellbeing.
  • Work with school staff to identify and support vulnerable pupils and families.
  • Promote and improve school attendance and punctuality.
  • Signpost and liaise with external agencies and support services.
  • Provide practical advice, guidance and early intervention support.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing processes.
  • Support initiatives that enhance family engagement and strengthen the home-school partnership.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with children, families or within education, social care or community services.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is empathetic, approachable and able to build trust with families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Is organised, resilient and able to manage a varied workload.
