What skills and experience we're looking for

Skills, Knowledge and abilities:

  • High standard of general education, minimum A Level, including strong literacy and math’s skills
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery
  • Works confidentially and with discretion, good judgement and initiative, handling sensitive personal situations appropriately.
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
  • Excellent ICT skills including Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, as well as Microsoft Teams
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and manage own workload with the flexibility to adapt to changing demands
  • Ability to deal with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels whilst demonstrating a flexible approach.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate high level management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, role model resilience and ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and filing systems, introducing digital processes and streamlining workload, with excellent attention to detail
  • A strong team player, able to build strong working relationships with internal and external parties by dealing calmly, professionally, and effectively with staff at all levels

Experience and Knowledge

  • Significant HR experience (3+ years) across the employee life cycle
  • CIPD qualified (Level 5) or equivalent experience, with evidence of professional development over the past 3 years
  • Experience of working with, supporting and advising senior staff
  • Experience of working in schools and of working with school data systems
  • Understanding of the Single Central Record
  • Safer Recruitment trained

We are looking for an outstanding HR practitioner capable of leading all aspects of the Human Resources function. In this pivotal role you will guide our leadership team on employment best practices, ensure smooth payroll operations and champion a positive and supportive work environment. Applying policies and navigating regulations you will at the same time foster positive employee relations, manage recruitment and oversee absence management. You will be involved with improving processes across the employee life cycle.

With a demonstrable number of years HR experience, the successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail and be adept at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines. The ability to handle sensitive personnel situations and to work confidentially is essential.

Role Summary:

- Lead on all aspects of the HR function across the employee life cycle, providing expertise to Senior Leaders and advice and support to employees.

- Manage recruitment, payroll, overseeing absence management, capability and disciplinary procedures in line with school policies.

- Ensure all documentation and reporting are undertaken systematically, accurately and in a timely fashion.

- Liaise as appropriate with HR partners.
