HR Manager job summary

We are seeking a confident HR professional to join Stratford Girls’ Grammar School as HR Manager, a newly established role that reflects the School’s commitment to high‑quality people management. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the HR function within a successful Single Academy Trust and make a real contribution to the School’s ongoing development.

Reporting to the Business Manager, the HR Manager will be the School’s lead HR practitioner, working closely with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and Governors. The role spans all employment processes from recruitment through to exit and carries significant responsibility, particularly in relation to safeguarding, safer recruitment, employment law compliance, HR administration, liaison with our payroll provider and employee relations. It will suit someone who brings sound judgement, professionalism and a collaborative approach.

As a new post, there is genuine scope for the successful candidate to help shape how the role operates in practice, developing systems and ways of working that are both robust and proportionate.
