Inclusion and Safeguarding Officer job summary

Established in 1632, Sir John Leman High School is steeped in history and has produced many generations of well-educated young people. The school has a strong emphasis on values and a relentless focus on improving learning, which is driving up performance in all aspects of our school.

We are seeking to appoint a highly organised Inclusion and Safeguarding Officer to support vulnerable and dysregulated students. The hours of work in this post are 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus one week) - please note that the salary is pro-rated in accordance with the weeks worked.

You will:

  • Have experience of working with secondary school students, particularly those with behavioural, SEND or SEMH needs
  • Have good knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding
  • Have strong communication, interpersonal and de-escalation skills
  • Have prior experience of working with students with SEMH needs.

Sir John Leman High School, situated in the historic market town of Beccles, Suffolk, on the edge of the Norfolk Broads, is a mixed comprehensive secondary school and sixth form. The pupil roll is around 1,400, with some 160 of these students moving on to the school’s sixth form.
