We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Inclusion Assistants to join our Inclusion and Wellbeing team. We have one permanent position available and one position available on a fixed term basis to provide maternity leave cover.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning participation and achievement.
The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting students both within and beyond the classroom. Working closely with teaching staff and support colleagues, you will help students with a range of additional needs to access learning, develop confidence and independence, and engage fully in college life. You will provide support to individuals and groups of students, contribute to targeted interventions and wellbeing activities, and help promote positive behaviour, attendance, progress and achievement.
You will develop an understanding of students' individual learning, personal and wellbeing needs, adapting support and resources where appropriate to help them succeed. The role may involve supporting students with Exam Access Arrangements, contributing to learner reviews and progress monitoring, assisting families with support processes, and accompanying students on educational visits, enrichment activities and college events. Where required, the post holder may also provide personal care support, including assistance with mobility, eating, toileting and medication, alongside basic first aid support following appropriate training.
We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who can build positive relationships with students, staff and families. You will be patient, adaptable and resilient, with a genuine commitment to inclusion, equality, diversity and student wellbeing. Experience of working with young people or individuals with additional support needs would be advantageous, although training and development opportunities will be provided.
Please indicate clearly on your application whether you are applying for the permanent position, the maternity leave cover position, or would be interested in being considered for either position. Please note - previous applicants need not apply.
We are committed to building a diverse workforce that reflects the students and communities we serve.
