Working weeks: Term time only plus 5 Inset days (38 weeks per year)
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 4pm,

The Role: Barnhill are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and compassionate individual to join our supportive and ambitious Inclusion Team. PURPOSE OF JOB:
To support the school's vision of ensuring that every student is safe, attend school, engages with their learning and is able to thrive, achieving their full potential.
The Inclusion, Wellbeing and Family Liaison Officer will work as a key member of the Inclusion team, proactively supporting students and families to identify, remove and overcome barriers to learning, attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and belonging. The postholder will serve as a key link between home and school, providing early intervention, pastoral support and coordinated access to external services and internal provision.
Working under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher Inclusion and alongside the SEND, pastoral and attendance teams, the post holder will contribute to the consistent implementation of the Inclusion strategy across the school.
The Inclusion, Wellbeing and Family Liaison Officer will work proactively with students and families to identify and remove barriers to learning, attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and belonging. The postholder will serve as a key link between home and school, providing early intervention, pastoral support and coordinated access to external services and internal provision.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the implementation of the school's inclusion strategy.
Promote a culture of inclusion, belonging and positive relationships across the school.
Oversee the day to day running of the Inclusion Hub.
Teach and lead some core interventions to close the gaps in learning
Identify and support students who may be vulnerable or at risk of underachievement, exclusion or disengagement.
Work closely with the AHT Inclusion, SENCO, Heads of Year and pastoral teams to ensure students receive appropriate support.
Monitor the progress, wellbeing and engagement of identified students.
Support reintegration programmes for students returning from periods of absence, suspension or alternative provision.
Maintain accurate records of student support, family contact, interventions and outcomes.
Support students identified as EBSNA (Emotional based school non-attendance) and those who are at risk with bespoke plans and interventions.
Contribute to the Assess, Plan, Do, Review where appropriate for SEND students.

Attend all relevant meetings
Promote a culture of inclusion, belonging and positive relationships across the school.
Contribute to the development and review of student support plans.
Develop strong and positive relationships with parents and carers.
Act as a key point of contact for families experiencing difficulties impacting their child's education.
Provide support, advice and guidance to families regarding attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and school engagement.
Undertake home visits where appropriate and in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
Facilitate meetings with parents, students and school staff to address emerging concerns.
Support families through significant life events including bereavement, family breakdown, housing difficulties and other challenges.
Develop effective working relationships with relevant external agencies and professionals.
Signpost families to relevant support services and community organisations.
Promote positive parental engagement with school life.
Work collaboratively with the Attendance Lead to improve student attendance and punctuality.
Identify attendance concerns and implement early intervention strategies.
Monitor attendance data and support targeted students and families.
Conduct attendance meetings and home visits.
Support strategies to reduce persistent and severe absence.
Promote positive attitudes towards school attendance and engagement.
Work with students experiencing emotionally based school avoidance.
Liaise with the school attendance team as required
Promote positive mental health and emotional wellbeing across the school.
Provide early intervention support for students experiencing emotional difficulties.
Deliver or facilitate targeted wellbeing programmes and interventions.
Work alongside the Mental Health Lead, pastoral staff and external services.
Support students experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, friendship difficulties or emotional regulation needs.
Assist in developing resilience, confidence and self-management skills.
Contribute to whole-school wellbeing initiatives and awareness campaigns.
Safeguarding
Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and safeguarding team.
Recognise and report safeguarding concerns in line with school procedures.
Support vulnerable students and families through safeguarding processes.
Maintain accurate, confidential and timely records.
Attend safeguarding and multi-agency meetings as required.
Contribute to Early Help assessments and plans.
Ensure safeguarding remains central to all aspects of the role.
Desirable:
Graduate with an interest in working in a mainstream school setting
QTS in primary or secondary, to support the teaching in the Inclusion Hub
Experience of working in a mainstream setting
Experience of monitoring and evaluation.
Aptitude:
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Some experience of working with students who have Special Educational Needs.
Ability to use complete administrative tasks.
Ability to relate positively to young people with behavioural, emotional and learning difficulties
Willingness to work constructively within schools
Ability to relate to people across a wide age and ability range and from diverse social, cultural, racial and ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to fit in with and to enhance the work of existing teams within the school.
Ability to identify potential barrier to learning and jointly engage in strategies to overcome those barriers
The post holder will be expected to undertake such tasks as are commensurate with the position and on the direction of the Head Teacher.
