About us and the role
Krishna Avanti Primary School, Croydon, is seeking to appoint an experienced and committed Inclusion Lead and SENCo to provide strategic leadership for SEND and inclusion across the school.
This is a key leadership role focused on ensuring every pupil receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
The successful candidate will lead the continued development of SEND and inclusion across the school, overseeing provision, monitoring pupil progress and ensuring that effective support and interventions are in place. They will also lead on the school’s Pupil Premium strategy and act as the Designated Teacher for Looked After Children (LAC), ensuring that vulnerable pupils receive the targeted support required to achieve their full potential.
Working closely with staff, families and external professionals, the Inclusion Lead will play a central role in promoting high-quality inclusive practice and ensuring that pupils with additional needs can fully access the curriculum and wider school life.
The role also includes responsibility as School Wellbeing Lead, overseeing initiatives that support pupil wellbeing and maintaining a positive, supportive school culture
We welcome applications from qualified SENCOs as well as teachers who are willing to undertake the SENCo qualification as part of their professional development.

What will you do?
- Lead the strategic development and implementation of SEND provision and inclusion across the school, ensuring policies, systems and practice support positive outcomes for all learners.
- Oversee the SEND register, coordinate targeted support and interventions, and monitor the progress and outcomes of pupils with SEND and those eligible for Pupil Premium funding.
- Work closely with staff, parents, external agencies and the local authority to ensure effective support, early identification of need, and high-quality inclusive provision.
- Line manage and support teaching assistants working with pupils with SEND, providing guidance, training and oversight of effective classroom practice.
- Act as Designated Teacher for children looked after and Mental Health Lead, coordinating support for pupils’ social, emotional and wellbeing needs while contributing to the wider leadership and improvement of the school.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of students, ensuring compliance with school policies and protocols.
