Main responsibilities:

  • To be an integral part of the SLT in raising standards of learning, assessment, and behaviour.

  • To lead on inclusion across the school providing support and advice that inspires and assures the school community.

  • To ensure the school community meets their statutory duty within the SEND Code of Practice.

  • To promote excellence in learning, assessment and first quality teaching for pupils who are vulnerable or have SEND.

  • To line manage the Teaching Assistants and the Pastoral Team.

  • To work directly with children and teachers to develop and support SEND in daily practice.

  • To lead the inclusion team in their role within school and oversee the school’s additional provision for pupils within St Jude’s School.

  • To be part of the safeguarding team as a DSL
