Are you passionate about inclusion and making a real difference in the lives of young people?

We are seeking an exceptional Inclusion Leader to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a pivotal role, combining the statutory responsibilities of SENCO with strategic oversight of attendance, safeguarding, and the effective use of funding for disadvantaged pupils.

As Inclusion Leader you will:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of inclusion across the school, with a particular focus on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Ensure that every pupil, regardless of background or need, is supported to achieve their full potential.
  • Oversee and develop the school’s SEND provision, maintaining the SEND register and policy, and ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Manage and inspire the Inclusion Team, including the Assistant SENCO/Pastoral Lead, Attendance Manager, and Lead Teaching Assistant.
  • Work closely with the Attendance Manager to monitor and improve attendance and punctuality.
  • Oversee the effective use of Pupil Premium and other funding streams to support disadvantaged pupils.
  • Serve as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, contributing to the safety and well-being of all pupils.
  • Build strong relationships with staff, parents/carers, external agencies, and the wider school community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and the National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to achieve it).
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within SEND or inclusion.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current educational initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • The ability to inspire, challenge, and support colleagues and pupils alike.

One of our guiding principles, which supports our efforts every day, is excellence. Everything we do is led by our desire to show excellence...this might be in our approach to work, the way we treat others, the manners we use towards our peers and visitors or in the way we respond to new experiences. You will hear the word 'excellent' many times as you move through school.

We are committed to:

  • Providing excellent teaching and learning by passionate experts
  • Having the highest expectations of all our pupils and knowing our children well
  • Challenging all children to strive for academic, creative, sporting and personal accomplishment within a broad, knowledge rich, vibrant curriculum
  • Developing a truly inclusive school, where ALL children can flourish
  • Celebrating achievement in all areas
  • Fostering an ethos of respect and empathy
  • Instilling a lifelong love of learning and a strong grounding for future success
  • Ensuring all children feel secure and happy

We celebrate perseverance; resilience and risk taking, ensuring children welcome challenge and are not frightened to make mistakes. We encourage children to take ownership of and responsibility for their learning, so they have the confidence and curiosity to ask questions, solve problems and respond to quality feedback. We encourage the children to be proud of the school and their achievements in all areas of the curriculum. We foster open and honest communication with parents and actively seek to engage with all members of the community in a positive and collaborative manner.
