About Academy Transformation Trust
Westbourne Academy is part of the Academy Transformation Trust family, whose ambition is that every person who passes through our schools and colleges becomes an educated person - able to take a rightful place in the community of educated people and to join what Robert Maynard Hutchins called “the Great Conversation.” An ATT education stresses history, the scientific mode of thinking, the disciplined use of language, a wide-ranging knowledge of the arts and religion, and the continuity of human enterprise.
At ATT we are driven by a simple but profound belief: every child can and should become capable, competent, and confident. Our purpose is to transform lives through education, and our strategy, ATT2030, sets out how we will achieve this for every pupil, every colleague, and every community we serve.
We know that people are at the heart of everything we do. Our trust thrives because of the talent, dedication, and values of our colleagues. If you choose to join us, you will become part of a high-trust, high-accountability organisation where principals are empowered to lead, colleagues are supported to grow, and everyone is united in the moral purpose of education.
What’s in it for you?
Access to continuous personal development programs. A bespoke platform supporting colleague welfare and benefits, including pension scheme, employee assistance program (EAP), recognition and reward scheme, cycle to work scheme and discounts on many major high street brands.

Westbourne Academy is a calm and happy school. We are an inclusive academy. We support all students, regardless of their starting point, to achieve their potential and develop the skills necessary for employment and life.
Westbourne Academy is not just a school it is a microcosm of the world with students and staff from all around the globe. Between them, they speak 32 languages and their differing perspectives on learning and life makes this a unique academy. We also have the pleasure of 30% of our students speaking English as an additional language and value the cultural diversity they bring.
We try not to take ourselves too seriously but know that preparing young people for the adult world is an important undertaking. Since opening as an academy on 1 February 2013, attitudes, aspirations and expectations have been transformed. We believe that our circumstances are quite unique and, therefore, that we can make a massive difference to the students we serve.
Currently we have around 1000+ students. Many of our students do not have the easiest backgrounds and we are determined to ensure that we remove as many barriers to learning as possible. Around 30% of our students come from a disadvantaged background. We are delighted that Ipswich has been deemed an opportunity area for the Department for Education and look forward to taking an active part in this initiative to tackle disadvantage.
