Inclusion Teaching Assistant job summary

Contract: 8:45am-3:30pm (Monday-Fridays), term time only plus 3 inset days

The Inclusion Teaching Assistant will provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs. Working under the direction of teaching staff and the SEND team, the post holder will support pupils to access learning, develop independence, and engage positively with school life.

The role involves working with individual pupils and small groups, adapting resources and approaches to meet a range of learning needs, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. The Inclusion Teaching Assistant will build strong, respectful relationships with pupils, promote positive behaviour, and support their welfare, learning, and personal development.

The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.

Kennet is a dynamic and ambitious 11-18 comprehensive school which opened in September 1957. The school has grown over the last 60 years, both in terms of size and success. We currently have approximately 1,780 pupils on roll including strong numbers in the Sixth Form at around 350 pupils. We were judged by Ofsted to be Outstanding in May 2016 and have accumulated a number of awards including Arts Mark Platinum, Exceptional Schools Award, NACE Challenge Award and Investors in Careers.
