Inspire, Nurture and Transform Lives
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional teacher to join our specialist SEND provision, The Blossom Tree.
We are seeking to appoint a caring, highly skilled and enthusiastic Class Teacher who is passionate about enabling children with additional needs to thrive both academically and personally. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a bespoke provision where relationships, communication, nurture and high aspirations are at the heart of everything we do.
About The Blossom Tree
The Blossom Tree is a specialist provision for a small cohort of pupils with a range of complex additional needs. Whilst many pupils have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the provision is not limited to children with ASD and supports pupils with a variety of communication, interaction, sensory, learning and social-emotional needs.
Children within The Blossom Tree benefit from a highly personalised curriculum tailored to their individual strengths, interests and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes. Through specialist teaching, nurturing relationships and carefully planned support, pupils develop the confidence, communication skills and independence needed to achieve success and participate fully in school life.
A key aim of the provision is to enable pupils to access appropriate opportunities within mainstream classrooms and the wider school community, ensuring they feel included, valued and successful.
The Role
As Class Teacher, you will share the classroom teaching with our Deputy Inclusion Lead of a small class of between 4 and 10 pupils, creating a safe, structured and nurturing environment in which children can flourish.
You will plan and deliver a bespoke curriculum that responds to pupils' individual needs and EHCP outcomes, while promoting communication, emotional regulation, self-esteem, independence and academic achievement. Working alongside experienced support staff, families and external professionals, you will ensure every pupil receives the support they need to make meaningful progress.
The successful candidate will be committed to developing a deep understanding of each child and will have the ability to adapt teaching, communication and learning approaches to remove barriers to success.
We Are Looking for Someone Who:
- Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for every child.
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has experience of teaching children with SEND or demonstrates a strong commitment to developing expertise in specialist provision.
- Understands the importance of nurturing relationships and creating emotionally safe learning environments.
- Can deliver highly personalised teaching and learning based on individual pupil needs and outcomes.
- Has a good understanding of communication and interaction needs, including supporting pupils with speech, language and communication difficulties.
- Can effectively use visual supports, structured approaches and adaptive teaching strategies.
- Works collaboratively with teaching assistants, families and external agencies.
- Believes passionately in inclusion and the potential of every child to succeed.
- Is resilient, reflective and committed to continuous professional development.
Desirable Experience
- Teaching pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other complex SEND.
- Working with pupils who have EHCPs.
- Knowledge of communication-friendly approaches, including visual supports, symbols, Makaton or Total Communication approaches.
- Experience of supporting pupils with sensory and emotional regulation needs.
- Working within a specialist or resource provision setting.
We Can Offer
- A rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference to children's lives.
- Wonderful pupils who will inspire and challenge you every day.
- Dedicated and experienced support staff.
- A highly supportive leadership team committed to inclusion.
- High-quality professional development and SEND training.
- Strong partnerships with families and external agencies.
- The opportunity to contribute to the continued development of an innovative and ambitious specialist provision.
