An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Instructor to join St John's School.
Instructor for Life Skills and Food Technology
Term Time + 5 training days - 37 hrs per week
We are looking for an outstanding and creative Instructor to join our team. Life Skills provides students with the attitudes, skills, knowledge, understanding, and values required for successful participation in the school and the wider community.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To effectively fulfil the role in order that all pupils of all abilities, including disadvantaged pupils, make at least good progress related to their starting points.
To deliver learning which provides consistently effective support and challenge for all learners, enabling pupils to develop independent skills for life.
To assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils.
To summit regular newsletter articles, Evidence Me and DoJo stories that outline learning of individuals and small/class groups.
To discharge all safeguarding responsibilities effectively and in line with the school’s Child Protection (Safeguarding) Policy and Procedure
To attend whole school, department, and teachers’ meeting as requested by the Headteacher.
Develop pupils’ understanding of British values and strengthen Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural development
To provide senior staff with any required information necessary to up-date an individual’s statement of special educational need or EHCP
To effectively liaise with department staff and subject leaders as and when necessary to support learning and development, providing clear schemes of work for a Life skills curriculum.
Manage challenging behaviour effectively and in line with whole school policy and procedure.
Track pupil progress in Life skills and Food technology in order that learning can be continuously reshaped, to maximise progress, and to ensure learning gains over time
