What skills and experience we're looking for
Key Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and extensive experience in primary education.
- Proven experience leading inclusion, or pastoral care.
- Deep understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Previous or current experience as lead DSL
- Ability to model excellent inclusive classroom practice.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to motivate staff and work with families.

Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement the school's vision for inclusion, equality, diversity, and safeguarding.
- Inclusion and Pastoral:Manage behaviour, attendance, and pastoral support systems (e.g., Trauma Perceptive Practice).
- Teaching and Learning:Drive high-quality, inclusive classroom practices and mentor staff to remove barriers to learning.
- Data and Monitoring:Analyze pupil performance data to track progress of vulnerable groups and report to governors/trust.
- Staff Development:Coach staff to develop skills in supporting special educational needs and mental health.
- Partnership Work:Work with parents, families, and external agencies to support student welfare.
- Deputising:Lead the school in the Headteacher's absence.
