Waingels is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Intervention & Inclusion Para‑Educator to join our Inclusion & Intervention Team. This is a vital role supporting students with personalised learning needs and ensuring they have every opportunity to thrive, both academically and socially.

About the role

Working under the direction of the SENCO and teaching staff, you will play a key part in delivering high‑quality support, maintaining a positive learning environment and helping to uphold the school’s high expectations of behaviour, engagement and progress. You will also provide short‑term classroom cover when required to support the smooth running of the school.

In this varied and rewarding position, you will be required to:

  • Support students through one‑to‑one and small‑group intervention work
  • Assist teachers in preparing, delivering and monitoring personalised learning activities and materials
  • Contribute to behaviour support, emotional wellbeing and positive student engagement in line with our school policies
  • Provide short‑term teacher cover and supervise work as directed
  • Assist with classroom organisation, resources, record‑keeping and day‑to‑day administrative tasks
  • Support students during social times, ensuring a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents and professionals involved in the student’s learning journey

About You

We are looking for someone who is motivated, adaptable and passionate about supporting young people. You will have:

Essential:

  • 5 GCSEs including English & Maths (grade C/4 or above)
  • A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A flexible, constructive and positive approach to supporting students with a range of needs
  • A high level of professionalism, confidentiality and safeguarding awareness

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a secondary school
  • Experience working with SEND students
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
