About the Department:

By joining the dynamic Technology Department at Outwood Academy Brumby you would be partaking in an exciting opportunity to shape and develop the future of Computing at our school. Currently, the department is supported by the Subject Director and Head of Department, but we’re looking for a passionate and skilled individual to spearhead the rollout of the Vocational ICT program. You’ll have full backing from the Subject Director, with access to a wealth of resources, including for the Vocational ICT qualification and all of KS3.
We understand that workload is a key challenge in teaching. That’s why we lead the way in in-house AI-driven marking systems for KS3 Computer Science assessments.Our AI tools help by:
- Providing instant, actionable feedback, reducing marking workload while ensuring ethical AI use.
- Offering adaptive learning technologies, giving students personalised challenges based on progress.
- Streamlining assessment analysis, giving you insights into student performance without hours of manual data entry.
- This frees up your time to focus on engaging students, developing creative lessons, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in your classroom.

The Teacher is expected to implement and use a wide range of teaching and learning strategies within the classroom, applying techniques like Assessment for Learning (AfL) to continually improve student performance. A core duty involves effectively using student level data to identify areas for development and raise standards.
This professional must be aware of strategies available for improving the learning and achievement of all students, alongside possessing a good understanding of curriculum developments within their specific subject area. The role requires maintaining high expectations for all students and effectively communicating with students and their parents, both orally and in writing. The teacher is expected to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing good practice across the department, and demonstrating creativity in problem solving and a willingness to adopt new approaches.
