We are looking to appoint an IT Technician based at the UTC OLP site (although from time to time you may be asked to work at any of our UTC Trust sites) to work under the direction of our Network Manager, who covers the Trust.
You will assist the Network Manager in providing technical support, resources and materials to staff to ensure the delivery of the curriculum, in a safe, timely and flexible manner and will assist in providing classroom support for teaching staff and support to students in relation to ‘bring your own device’ and printing.
You must be able to provide an efficient and effective service, characterised by clear, accurate work, meeting deadlines, successful task completion, confidentiality and the ability to work on your own initiative under the direction of the Network Manager.
Essential educational requirements
Level 3 IT Based qualification.
Maths and English to minimum level 2.
Providing application support, including Iiaising with users and external software suppliers.
Installing client software.
Experience of working in an ICT support role.
Working with technical reports, testing protocols and systems procedures.
Essential skills and experience
Effective communicator both written and orally including the ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience.
Able to work effectively and take decisions under pressure.
Able to work as an effective member of a team.
Able to prioritise workload appropriately.
Able to follow procedures and technical documentation.
Able to follow instructions / complete tasks given to a high standard.
Flexible working as may be asked/required to work unsociable hours.

UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is a University Technical College which opened in September 2016 on the Olympic Legacy Park site in north-east Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The UTC is sponsored by The Sheffield College and Sheffield Hallam University, who also sponsor the UTC Sheffield which opened in 2013, Specialising in Computing, Health Sciences and Sport Science. Students can join in Y9 or Y12 to study a combination of GCSEs/A Levels and a technical specialism.
