IT Technician Level 3 (School Network Manager) job summary

King’s Academy Binfield & King’s Academy Oakwood

Ready to take your IT career to the next level?

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced IT Technician Level 3 (School Network Manager) to join our team and take operational responsibility for IT services across two thriving schools.

This is a hands-on role with real scope to make an impact. You’ll play a key part in keeping our networks, systems and technology secure, reliable and fit for the future — supporting both teaching and learning and the day-to-day running of our schools.

What will you be doing?

You’ll take the lead on:

  • Managing network infrastructure, hardware and application support across both schools
  • Troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing high-quality IT support
  • Maintaining secure, reliable and efficient IT systems
  • Managing infrastructure upgrades and the full lifecycle of IT assets
  • Leading and delivering school-specific IT projects
  • Supporting, guiding and developing junior IT team members
  • Prioritising workloads and ensuring consistently high service standards
  • Working closely with staff and pupils to make technology work for everyone
What are we looking for?

You’ll be an approachable, patient and solutions-focused IT professional who enjoys helping people and thrives on solving problems.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience managing IT infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS and ChromeOS
  • Experience with Active Directory, Office 365 and Google Workspace
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues and pupils
  • Strong organisation, communication and customer service skills
  • The resilience to stay calm and effective when things get busy

Experience of line management, education-sector systems such as Arbor MIS, or relevant Microsoft/Google certifications would be an advantage — but we’re equally interested in someone with the right practical experience, attitude and appetite to learn.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to be more than just the person who fixes the Wi-Fi. You’ll have the chance to shape IT provision across two schools, lead projects, support your colleagues and help create technology-enabled environments where staff and pupils can thrive.

If you’re proactive, technically confident and ready for your next challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

Could you be the person to keep our schools connected, secure and moving forward? Apply today!
