Our Mission Statement is ‘Learn Together, Learn Forever’ and this is demonstrated through our vision in the following ways:

Love of learning - A safe place where children enjoy learning with their friends and peers because children learn best when they are having fun!

Excellent teaching - Through excellent teaching and positive relationships, children are skillfully guided to discover things that excite and intrigue them and the teachers also learn alongside their pupils.

Raising Aspirations - Children are inspired to be something greater then they ever thought possible and challenged to dream big dreams!

Partnering with Community - Parents are actively involved with their children's learning as partners within an inclusive and dynamic community.

Hazel Grove Primary School converted to academy status and became a proud member of the Laurus Trust in September 2024. We echo the Trust’s Vision and continue to strive “for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, to be inspired, to thrive in all environments, to recognise what it takes to succeed, to set aspirational goals and to work hard to achieve them.”

Professional Development

We attach huge importance to continued Professional Learning and recognise that, in the exciting and ever-changing environment in which we work, we are all learners and are constantly looking for ways to improve our practice.

Our comprehensive programme of in-house Professional Learning comprises weekly pedagogy-based sessions for both teaching and non-teaching staff.

Being part of a Multi Academy Trust enables our staff to work across schools and phases. Not only does this broaden their experience, it opens up a wider range of leadership opportunities.

As a Trust we actively develop our teachers through nationally accredited programmes such as the NPQ's and many of our staff have completed courses at Masters level.
