Kids Club Deputy Play Leader job summary

The Deputy Kid’s Club Leader is responsible for supervising the children, ensuring their safety at all times, engaging with them in aspects of play and conversation, setting up activities for children to optionally take part in, meeting and greeting parents and providing them with feedback on their child’s time at the club. The post holder will ensure that they strictly adhere to the safeguarding requirements of the School.

The post is for a total of 20 hours per week (52 weeks per year) which would be split between breakfast (7.30am -9am) and afterschool club (3.30pm -6pm) Monday to Friday, term time only, some flexibility will be needed on weeks where we may close for any reason. The successful candidate would take the lead during holiday club (outside of term time). Responsibilities during this time would include arranging staff cover for absences. Activities and events would be planned and arranged between the Deputy and Kids Club Leader in advance of the holidays. Contracted hours can be amalgamated to cover the day shifts during holiday in agreement with the Kid’s Club Leader. There will be an opportunity for overtime during the school holidays.

The successful candidate must possess the following skills and attributes:

NVQ level 3 childcare qualification;

paediatric First Aid qualification – desirable but not essential as training will be given

previous experience working with children;

enthusiastic and organised with excellent communication skills and good sense of initiative;

fun loving, caring, responsible, compassionate, committed, creative, responsible;

flexible team player willing to take on various tasks as required.
