What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Be an inspiring, highly skilled classroom practitioner with high expectations of all pupils

  • Have a sound understanding of primary pedagogy

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Focus clearly on the drive to lift all pupil attainment

  • Promote our pastoral agenda in a drive to supporting all pupils’ mental health

  • Have experience of teaching in KS1

  • Has a good understanding of early reading and phonics

  • Understand the requirements of the National Curriculum

  • Be skilled in the teaching of Mathematics and English

  • Have experience of using a variety of assessment strategies and assessment data to ensure all pupils make at least good progress

The children, staff and governors of Ecclesfield Primary School are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher to start in September 2024. This is a great opportunity to become part of our two form entry “Good” primary school - judged by Ofsted January 2019. Ecclesfield Primary School is federated with Coit Primary and thus there are many opportunities to work alongside staff at both schools. Both schools are committed to nurturing staff to support the development of the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
