What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Qualified teacher status
  • Degree
  • successful primary teaching experience
    • Knowledge of the National Curriculum
    • Knowledge of teaching Phonics
    • Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies for raising pupil attainment including different working groups of pupils such as SEND, FSM, EAL.
    • A good understanding of how children learn
    • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
    • Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and staff
    • Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
    • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
    • Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
    • Ability to analyse, interpret and act on test/teacher assessment data

New Hinksey Primary School is a Church of England voluntary controlled primary school in South Oxford. The school maintains close contacts with the local St John’s church. There are currently 131 students at the school.
