What skills and experience we're looking for
Ropsley Church of England Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join our team in Key Stage 1, teaching a mixed Year 1/2 class for three days each week (Monday to Wednesday). The successful candidate will carry out the duties of a teacher in accordance with the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about early learning and understands the importance of a play-based, child-centred approach within Key Stage 1. Experience of teaching mixed-age classes is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- To plan and deliver a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum in line with National Curriculum requirements and the school’s curriculum policies.
- To create a stimulating, engaging, and nurturing learning environment that supports all pupils to thrive.
- To value and implement high-quality play-based learning opportunities that support the development of younger learners.
- To assess, monitor, and support the progress and development of all pupils.
- To work effectively as part of a team, including directing and supporting Teaching Assistants.
- To contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold its Christian ethos and values.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a strong understanding of teaching and learning in Key Stage 1
- Values play-based and experiential learning
- Ideally has experience of teaching mixed-age classes
- Has high expectations for all pupils, both academically and pastorally
- Is reflective, flexible, and committed to continuous professional development
- Will contribute positively to our caring and inclusive school community
