What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governors of Blue Coat Primary School are looking to appoint a class teacher within KS2 to help us to achieve our vision of making our children “future ready”.
The candidates will need to be committed to supporting children in being curious, motivated and independent learners. You will need show the desire to always be looking to improve your own practice in order to be the best teacher possible for the children. We are looking for individuals who put the children’s needs at the heart of everything that they do within the role. You will need to be reflective, willing to try new ideas and passionate about the impact that a quality education has on young people.
What the school offers its staff
Blue Coat School leadership structure is in the form of our Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher and our Business Manager. Blue Coat has a committed team of teaching and non-teaching staff who work together to provide the best possible education for our children. We currently have 18 class teachers and 15 teaching assistants who are supported by a dedicated team of administrative and support staff.
As a Voluntary Aided school, Blue Coat has very close links with our local church. The children visit St Mary’s Church for a service at least once a term and representatives from the local churches lead acts of worship in school on a weekly basis as well as providing a range of other enrichment experiences.
Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is very active, forward-thinking and supportive, organising several major fundraisers over the academic year which contribute towards funding the school’s improvement priorities. Families are extremely supportive of our school and involved in all aspects of school life.
The Governors work closely with the Headteacher and staff in evaluating and improving the education we offer and ensuring that we provide the best possible outcomes for all our pupils. Following consultation with our stakeholders, we have developed an exciting vision for Blue Coat by focusing firmly on the future and how we best prepare our pupils for it. Underpinning this vision are four core Christian Values – all of which are firmly embedded and have significant impact on our whole school community, as recognized within the “Outstanding” SIAMS report
Commitment to safeguarding
