Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a committed, reflective and experienced classroom teacher to join our team in Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring every child builds strong foundations in their learning, feels valued, and is challenged to achieve their very best. This role is central to securing consistently high quality teaching with a clear focus on inclusion and adapting practice so that all learners including those in mixed age classes SHINE!

Objectives

To secure every pupil’s full entitlement to the National Curriculum, ensuring teaching is well sequenced, ambitious and responsive to need within a mixed age class.

To establish and maintain a classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and effective learning, rooted in strong, respectful and nurturing relationships.

To enable all pupils to make strong progress and achieve highly, recognising and supporting individual starting points and needs.

To uphold and model The Malvern Wells Way and the Malvern Wells Way ensuring consistent, fair and positive behaviour expectations across the school.

Main Responsibilities

Adhere to all school policies related to:

• Effective classroom management and organisation and adherence to the Malvern Wells Teaching and Learning Rubric.

• Planning and delivering high quality lessons that meet pupils’ needs and align with curriculum expectations

• Setting clear and ambitious targets for pupils’ progress

• Marking, assessing, recording and reporting in line with school and statutory requirements

• Providing high quality pastoral care that supports pupils’ wellbeing and readiness to learn

Carry out supervisory duties professionally and reliably, maintaining high expectations at all times.

Engage proactively in ongoing professional development, reflecting on practice and contributing to school improvement.

Key Tasks

Teach pupils across the primary age range as a class teacher, providing high quality, inclusive teaching that reflects the Teachers’ Standards.

Record, track and monitor pupils’ learning and progress, maintaining accurate and purposeful records in line with National Curriculum expectations and the Malvern Wells assessment processes.

Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils, using formative assessment and evidence informed strategies.

Requirements

Identify pupils with additional needs or Special Educational Needs at the earliest opportunity, working closely with colleagues and the SENDCo to secure appropriate support and provision.

Report any safeguarding or child protection concerns immediately to the designated safeguarding lead, following school policy rigorously.

Implement agreed curriculum policies, schemes of work and guidance contained within the staff handbook.

Attend and contribute meaningfully to key stage, team and whole school meetings, sharing expertise and collaborating to strengthen practice.

Seek guidance and advice from colleagues or senior staff when needed, demonstrating a reflective and professionally responsible approach.
