Nestled just off York Road (A64) in inner-east Leeds, St Patrick’s serves a wonderfully diverse community, united by a strong and supportive parish. Our school is rooted in love, faith and high aspirations, with a high percentage of our pupils from Catholic families and a culture that celebrates and supports all backgrounds.
With 210 fantastic children across seven classes, our school is a place full of joy, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning. Our children are simply a delight to teach – they are polite, enthusiastic, and eager to grow. We are proud to be oversubscribed, with waiting lists in most year groups – a testament to the trust our community places in us.
Since becoming Headteacher in 2019, I have been deeply moved by the kindness and support shown by staff, families, and parishioners. Our school truly feels like a family – and we are on an exciting journey together. We are passionate about offering an inspiring and creative curriculum, one that gives every child the very best start in life while placing Christ and the Gospel virtues at the heart of all we do.
Due to the promotion of one of our class teachers, our Governors are now looking for an excellent, motivated and caring class teacher to join our close-knit team. Whether you’re at the start of your teaching career or bringing years of experience, you’ll be valued, supported and encouraged every step of the way. We believe in real, impactful CPD and work hard to make sure all staff feel listened to, appreciated and empowered to flourish. the senior leadership team has a strong track record of mentoring staff into successful middle leadership roles. When applying, please do let us know about your curricular strengths or areas of special interest.
We are proud of our most recent Ofsted inspection (March 2024), which confirmed that we continue to be a ‘good’ school. Even more, we were blessed to be recognised once again as an ‘outstanding’ Catholic school in our 2022 Section 48 inspection. As highlighted in the report:
“St Patrick’s is a deeply committed and caring community, characterised by outstanding leadership and dedicated staff, united in wholeheartedly promoting the Catholic mission of the school.”
At St Patrick’s, our school motto ‘Christ be within me’ isn’t just words on a wall – it is lived out daily in our relationships, our values, and in how we care for each other and our wider community.
If this sounds like the kind of school where you would love to teach and grow, our Governors would be delighted to hear from you. Come and be part of something special – come and help us continue to build the best Catholic school we can be.
