A rare opportunity to work for a specialist school in proving a "fresh start" for primary children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
Your new school
The Lift Crescent View is a specialist provision for children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. The school is led by a dedicated and experienced Principal, Liz Oakey, who has been with the school for 4 years. She has established a strong, supportive and welcoming team who together achieved a Good Ofsted where it was recognised that ''staff know the pupils well. They use this knowledge to raise pupils' self-esteem and ensure they are ready to learn''.
We teach children across KS1 and KS2 in small classes of 8-10 children, with an ambitious curriculum and increased opportunities for SEMH and personal development. We have high expectations for our pupils and all our staff work alongside the children, families and other professionals to ensure their needs are met. If you are passionate about children with SEMH needs receiving an excellent education in every classroom every day, we would love for you to apply.

Additionally, you will collaborate with other teaching staff, pastoral staff and parents to support the personal development of students, addressing their individual needs and promoting inclusivity.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified teacher who has patience and understanding with young children, particularly those with additional needs. You'll be able to quickly adjust teaching methods to meet the needs of all children. It's important you have the flexibility to be able to handle unexpected and sometimes challenging situations with professionalism and patience. Children with SEMH can present with a variety of needs so understanding the reasons for these, the support which they require and being solution focused is key.

Lift Crescent View has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where the individual nature of every child is recognised and valued. All the children, parents, staff and governors are committed to working together to ensure that every child receives the support that they require.
The curriculum is designed to support children in becoming confident and independent learners in a rapidly changing world. We want children to be excited about coming to school and love learning. We want them to be motivated, tuned in and challenged. Most of all, we want children to know that success is in each and every one of them and comes as a result of their own effort. We want to bring it out. We want to give them the belief that they can improve and learn, and to be proud of their many achievements.
Our school is vibrant and dynamic. We place a strong emphasis on challenging and supporting every pupil to aspire to, and achieve, success in all areas of the curriculum. Inside and outside the classrooms our talented and committed team concentrates on what the children are doing and provides experiences and support to help youngsters to learn. Lessons are active, children work with each other and pupil responsibility for learning is encouraged at all times.
Our Curriculum
At Lift Crescent View we teach a curriculum that is similar to other schools because we believe that our pupils have the right to the same school experience as any other primary aged child. The key difference in our curriculum delivery is that it is delivered in very small classes with high levels of staffing.
